BEAVER LANE STUDIOS - Bob Turan © 2019
A collaborative work with Mother Nature
Started by carpenter ants and then continued by a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers, this tree was taken down to prevent it from falling on the road.
The pieces were strung together with long, threaded rods, being careful to not disturb the carving done by the woodpeckers. The wood was then treated with clear penetrating epoxy resin to “petrify” it.
The final assembly included the welded steel spacers, base, buttresses and the crown, all designed to frame the work and to provide stability.
Approximately 4’ x 4’ x 10’ and weights 600.
This piece is for sale, for more information contact me.
